This two-day Introduction To Hedgelaying training course is delivered by award-winning hedgelayer Paul Matthews. We welcome both novices and intermediates, training up to 6 individuals per course. Private groups are also welcome.
Typically, we run day one at Norbury Park, Fetcham, and day two on a farm in Reigate.

Sandy Smith Hedgelaying Training Weekend

This weekend we are continuing to work on 2.5 kilometres of hedge at the Sandy Smith Nature Reserve which is ideal for beginners to learn hedge laying using hand tools. We will mostly be laying South of England style, but you will also get the opportunity to learn how to lay crop and pleach style using live stakes and to compare and contrast these two hedge laying styles. WCV 23rd Hedge Laying Training Event

The 23rd Wirral Countryside Volunteers Cheshire style hedgelaying training event will take place in Thingwall, Wirral - with thanks to Miles Duncan, Home Farm, Landican.
Tools and appropriate PPE will be available for Trainees to use. Please ensure you wear clothing and footwear suitable for outdoor working.
Refreshments - tea, coffee and cake - will be available through the day. Please remember to bring a packed lunch with you, plus any other refreshments you require.
IMPORTANT NOTE: there are different ticket types available: for 'TRAINER ONLY' (the individuals who will deliver the training) and 'TRAINEE ONLY' (the individuals learning the how to hedge lay). Please ensure you select the correct ticket for your skill level.
Meeting Point: On Thingwall Road, opposite Whaley Lane, there is a road parallel to and set back from Thingwall Road, plenty of parking space.
